Our chemistry teachers, Mr. Ragusa and Mrs. Ragusa, will be offering a series of cutting-edge nanotechnology courses starting this fall. Mr. Kennedy will also be offering math courses currently not treated in the math classes this summer. We are excited about our new courses.
New course this fall: Nanoscale Drug Delivery (prerequisites: Mechanics 1 & 2)
Teachers: Mr. Ragusa, Mrs. Ragusa
In this course, students will be introduced to the advancing and dynamic field of nanotechnology. Students will research, design and conduct an experiment as it relates to nanomedicine. Biodegradable alginate capsules will be made and used as an analogy to a drug delivery system. The students will experiment with the time-release properties of these capsules and present their findings.
