STEM Saturdays at NIU Naperville (Spring Schedule)
Programing & Robotics I
This session utilizes Lego Mindstorm educational kits, which introduce students to the basics of programming in an intuitive and visually based environment. Students learn about program structure, and how to use commands to instruct the robots to react to their surroundings and complete simple tasks. These sessions have been quick to fill up in the past, so be sure and reserve your spot early.

Programming & Robotics II
Students attending this class should have previously attended the first session on Robotics and Programming, or already have prior experience using Lego Mindstorm robotic kits. Please contact instructor (JJBenson@niu.edu) before registering a student who has not attended the first session. This session will focus more on critical thinking and problem solving, as students learn some of the more advanced tools and commands needed to instruct their robots to complete a variety of challenges and tasks.

Cost: $35
Electronics & Soldering
Students will learn about the functions of various types of electronic components, and how they work together to create the devices we use every day. Students will learn how to solder, and will construct their own electronic projects in class. Course cost includes the price of the Learn-to-Solder electronics kit the students will get to build and keep.

The Science of Sound
